Hip-Hop Beatmaking

• I bring CD's that run the open-source Audacity, along with beats, loops, and song clips.

• We'll learn multi-track audio editing as we create our own music from beats.

• We'll learn a bit about the history of hip-hop.

• We'll learn hip-hop audio editing techniques like beat slicing and chipmunking.

• Takehome: Kids get to take the CD's home with them.

• Kids can export their musical creations as MP3 files.

What You Need to Provide:

• Headphones are essential for this class.
• Microphones add a lot of fun (and a lot of noise).
• For kids to be able to take their MP3 songs home with them, you'd need to have a CD burner or the ability to email the files.
