You must have Adobe Photoshop installed for this class.
-
I bring CDs with celebrity and political figures picture files, plus a printout lesson plan about the art of caricature.
-
Kids use the Photoshop Liquify tool to alter pictures to get a caricature effect.
-
Kids can also apply a filter to their finished caricature to make it look as if it were hand drawn.
-
Older kids can learn to morph the caricature, learning about layers and animation in Photoshop. The resulting picture is an animated .gif that can be emailed or put on a website.
-
Takehome: Kids can save and print their final creation. You'll need a color printer, and it's nice if kids can save their pics to a CD to take with them.
-
You get to keep the lesson plan.
